Tiffany M. Waters

Director | Costumer | Educator | Actor

Tiffany utilizes her extensive background in acting, dramaturgy, and performance studies to navigate her unique approach to theatre making, emphasizing process and collaboration. She currently works as the Theatre Arts Director & Teacher at a magnet school in North Carolina where she won the 2023 Beginning Teacher of the Year award. Previously, Tiffany worked as the Education Associate & Community Engagement Coordinator with Mill Mountain Theatre in Virginia and served as a Teaching Artist with Moonlit Wings Productions in the Washington, D.C./ NOVA community and the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, Virginia. Tiffany made her directorial debut with a Zoom production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night: Or What You Will with the Rude Mechanicals in Washington, D.C. Most recently, Tiffany wrote and directed the premiere performance of Peter and Wendy at Mill Mountain Theatre last November. Recent costuming credits include Curious George: The Golden Meatball and As You Like It for MMT's 2022 Young Audiences Series and The Cake for MMT's 2022 Fringe Series. Notable roles include Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (MBU S&P), Olivia/ Sir Andrew in Twelfth Night (MBU MFA), and the Jailor’s Daughter in Two Noble Kinsmen Staged Reading (Rudes D.C.). Tiffany is a graduate of Mary Baldwin University's Shakespeare and Performance MLitt/MFA program in partnership with the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, V.A. Her particular fields of expertise include classical acting, modern interpretation and adaptation of classical works, the Viewpoints method, movement, and devising.
